Wear Sunglasses While Outside

Probably the easiest and most effective step you can take to protect your eyes from the sun's harmful UVA and UV rays is to simply wear sunglasses when you're planning on spending time outdoors. Specifically, prescription sunglasses (if you need corrective lenses) are recommended so you don't have to compromise the quality of your vision in order to spend time safely outdoors. Another way to protect your eyes when you're out in the sun is to simply wear a visor or a hat. For the best results, wear sunglasses and a hat or visor. A hat can also provide the added benefit of protecting your scalp and parts of your face from sunburn.

Wear Goggles While Swimming

While the sun is certainly a damaging factor to your eyes during the summer, chlorine can also be dangerous, especially if your eyes are exposed to it while swimming.
